LOS ANGELES -- Two tickets with all six winning numbers were sold in Friday night's drawing of the 12-state Mega Millions lottery, which had a jackpot of $333 million.
One of the winning tickets was sold in San Gabriel and the other was sold in New York.
The jackpot ticket sold in California was bought at Kim Ky Noodle, 1108 S. San Gabriel Boulevard in San Gabriel, California Lottery officials announced Saturday.
Thirty-four other tickets -- including six in California -- matched five numbers, but not the Mega number. They are each worth $220,778.
They were sold: -- in Fountain Valley at Fountain Valley Fuel, 17971 Brookhurst St.; -- in La Habra at the Shop N Go Market, 671 S. Beach Blvd.; -- in Alhambra at the 7-Eleven at 1200 Garfield Ave.; -- in Whittier at Cordial Liquor, 13330 Meyer Road; -- in East Palo Alto at Pal Market, 2386 Cooley Ave.; -- and in Menlo Park at Chevron No. 1717 at 1399 Willow Road;
Friday's winning numbers were: 37, 1, 17, 31, and 54, and Mega number 31.
The drawing was the 15th since the last time a ticket with all six numbers was sold.
A ticket sold in New York for the July 7 drawing had all six numbers and was worth $133 million.
The odds of matching all five numbers and the Mega number is 1 in 175,711,536, according to the Mega Millions Web site.
Besides California, the Mega Millions game is played in Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.
California Lottery officials reminded the public that borrowing money to play the lottery, spending above a person's budget or using money intended for other purposes can ultimately lead to significant problems for players and their families.
