WELD COUNTY, Colo. -
Two people were seriously injured early Monday in a fire after an explosion at a farmhouse in Weld County.
The 911 call came at about 2:45 a.m. in the 31 thousand block of County Road 53 northeast of Greeley.
There were reports of 100 foot flames when firefighters arrived.
Investigators think a propane-based heater may have exploded. They believe the man and woman injured tried to put the fire out themselves.
Both were taken to Northern Colorado Medical Center in Greeley for treatment of significant injuries. One was listed in critical condition.
The house and trailers at the farm were destroyed, and a dog was hurt by flying debris, but the pet is expected to be okay.
