CONIFER, COLO. -
A high school junior is in fair condition tonight after she was run over by a car in the parking lot of her school.
17-year old junior, Jessica Harshbarger was air-lifted to Children's Hospital from Conifer High School Wednesday afternoon.
Authorities say she was laying stomach down on the hood of a grey Trailblazer S-U-V while it was moving down the parking lot. Jessica slipped and fell off the hood and was caught underneath the vehicle.
The Jefferson County School District said the driver of the car was another junior female from the school who was friends with Jessica.
Jessica suffered injuries to her head and back but it is unknown if she was run over by the tires. One parent said she is upset at the actions high school students are choosing to make. "They shouldn't be doing these things, they need to respect themselves, the car is not a toy, the car will kill you," said Wendy Stevens.
Authorities are still investigating if this accident was caused by "car-surfing." No charges have been filed against anyone involved.
