Pit bulls attack Evans woman
EVANS - A 29-year-old Evans woman attacked by 2 pit bulls while playing with her dogs was rescued from the situation by police officers who had been called to the neighborhood to look for the loose animals.

Just before noon Saturday an Evans Officer was dispatched to the 2600 block of Hawk Drive on reports of two pit bulls running at large. When Evans Officer Yates arrived near the block of Ptarmigan Drive, he saw the two pit bulls approaching the victim who was in her front yard with her two dogs.

Officers were able to contain one of the pit bulls by shooting one with a tranquilizer. The other was captured.

Angela Mountain suffered several bites to her right leg and her dogs suffered superficial wounds to them. Paramedics arrived on scene to treat Mountain. She was not transported to a hospital and her dogs did not need further medical attention.

The pit bulls were taken to the Weld County Humane Society and placed on quarantine.

So far the owner of the pit bulls has not stepped forward to claim them. the dogs did not have collars or tags on to identify them or their owners.
