Pickup crashes into Greeley Mall Visionworks store (July 10, 2010)
GREELEY, Colo. - The Weld County District Attorney's Office has decided that charges will not be filed against a 30-year-old man who crashed into a store at the Greeley Mall on July 10, killing two people.
An investigation by the Greeley Police Department determined that Peter Lain suffered an unforeseeable blackout due to an acute medical condition, causing his truck to plow into the front of the Visionworks store.
Kimberley Fletcher, 32, who was a customer in the store, and Jennifer Hudgens, 23, of Pueblo were both killed in the crash. Hudgens was a store employee and a student at the University of Northern Colorado.
Fletcher's 9-year-old son said his mother was a 'hero' for pushing him out of harms way during the crash.
