Kissing could be the best defense against the flu
It turns out that kissing is designed to help people fight disease, rather than the romantic reasons most of us associate with the intimate act. In fact, kissing might be the best defens against the flu.

Some medical researchers say the best way to fight the flu and other viruses is lockin' lips with someone special over and over again.

British researchers believe kissing may have been developed specifically to "spread" germs, and help partners build up immunity to viruses.

They say kissing the same person for at least six months provides the best protection because it exposes each person to the diseases of the other, which helps the body learn to fight off a variety of bugs.

The findings appear in the journal "Medical Hypotheses."
