DENVER -
With company sponsored holiday parties being banned on Wall Street, and many Main Street businesses deciding against the festive fairs, caterers are claiming to have a special insight into how the economy is doing.
"Last year we were hurting," said Rusty Grimm of Maggiano's in Denver. "This year we have been extremely busy, in fact the end of last week we were up and down the 16th Street Mall delivering on the Shuttle Buses."
Three Tomatoes Catering says their business is up 30% over last Christmas and noted that last year there was no last minute business, but they say this year that has changed for the better.
Brothers BBQ is also enjoying a huge spike in sales.
"We are doing very well this year," said De'Andre Dowell, Asst. Mgr. "Why would anyone go anywhere else, we'll bring the Que to you!"
Both corporate and private house parties are going the cater route this year and businesses indicate that says good things about the economy.
